Dairy Industry LED Lighting Rebate Qualifications to Know
Determining if you are eligible for LED lighting rebates can be tricky, especially because there is no industry standard for dairy farm lighting rebates and each utility company has its own regulations. To see if your utility company offers dairy farm LED lighting rebates, contact their customer service phone number or check their website to get more information.
Dairy farm LED lighting rebate qualifications include:
- A new lighting construction vs. a retrofit installation
- If it is a retrofit project, the type of previous lights (including light type, wattage, size etc.) that were used will be considered
- The number of lights being replaced (many utility companies will only rebate a 1:1 LED light exchange)
- The power of the new LED lights being installed (some utility companies will offer increased rebate amounts for higher powered LED lights)
- The classification of the light being installed (some utility companies do not offer rebates for “agricultural” or “grow” lights. However, if a customer opts to install a new highbay, or lowbay, light, most utility companies offer rebates)
- LED lights that qualify for rebates must be DLC listed (some utility companies will not offer rebates regardless of DLC light certification)
- LED lighting rebates may only be offered on a first-come, first-served basis by some utility companies
